John Plishka is an award winning artist and a Juried Member of the American Academy of Equine Art, as well as an Associate member of the Society of Animal Artists.
His paintings have appeared in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Equus magazine, and The Chronicle of the Horse.

John received an Honorable Mention in the Animals and Wildlife Category of the19th Annual Pastel 100 Competition with his painting "Intersections". The award winning painting was selected from approximately 2200 entries.
He is a recent winner of the Jean Bowman Award for Painting at the 2016 American Academy of Equine Art Fall Open Exhibition.
